Annapurna Base Camp is a gateway to the world's 10th highest tallest mountain; Mt. Annapurna (8,091 metres). Besides the 10th tallest peak, you can witness Tharpu Chuli (5663m), Singu Chuli (6501m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Machhapuchhre (6,993 m), and South Annapurna (7219m).
Trail of Annapurna takes you through the forest of the Subtropical zone to the Alpine zone in the mountains. You will wander through a picturesque rustic village exposing yourself to the local lifestyle. Trek is a moderate walk on a winding path with a gradual uphill and downhill.
Annapurna region is not just a trek, it is a sanctuary to wildlife, vegetation, and local cultures. This trek is part of Annapurna Conservation Area (ACA). You can witness various species of birds, reptiles, and mammals. You can see Himalayan black bears, Blood Pheasant, Liebig's Paa (Frog), and many more.
Vegetation wise you can find a variety of flora and fauna depending upon the climatic zone of the Annapurna. Subtropical gives you the forest of Schima, Oaks, and Ferns. Temperate gives you a forest of Rhododendron and Maple. The subalpine zone has dwarf trees of Juniper and Rhododendron.

Best Season for Annapurna Base Camp Trek - 13 Days
Spring and Autumn are the best seasons for trekking Annapurna Base Camp. They get the best weather to trek. Generally, these two seasons dominate the trail of Nepal. Temperature is moderate. Neither cold nor hot. Vegetation thrives. Flowers bloom and wildlife wander in the forests. Landscapes full of picturesque ambience. Summer and Winter seasons are least preferred. However, every season has its own distinctive features. Spring (March to May): Spring season in Nepal starts from March to May. Climate is mild, perfect for beginner trekkers and heavenly for professionals. You get a clear blue sky with lush green forest. Pink Rhododendron forest ornate the entire region. Especially in Ghorepani - Poon Hill trek Trail is clear. Above 3,000 meters, you can find patches of snow. Like always Annapurna Base Camp is full of snow. Temperature in the lower region is mild while higher altitude gets colder. Temperature reaches 20-25℃ in the day and 0℃ in the night. Summer / Monsoon (June to Mid-September): Summer season is not recommended and preferred by trekkers. It starts from June to mid September. Climate is warm however, summer in Nepal is followed by the monsoon season. It heavily rains in the lower region. Despite rains the upper region has the best view of peaks after rainfall. Trail can be muddy and slippery making it difficult to trek. Temperature on the base camp reaches to 25-30℃ in the day and below 5℃ in the night. Monsoon is heaven for trekkers seeking adrenaline rush. Autumn – End of September / October / November Autumn is also the best season for trekkers and travel enthusiasts in Nepal. Autumn starts from the end of September to November. Mild climate with pristine blue sky gives the best ambience. Autumn is also festival time in Nepal. Festivals add color and vibrancy. Trail is an easy walk for both beginners and professionals. Above 3,000 meters, you can find patches of snow. Like always Annapurna Base Camp is full of snow. Temperature in the lower region is mild while higher altitude gets colder. Temperature reaches 20-25℃ in the day and 0℃ in the night. Winter (December to February): Winter season is also less preferred by trekkers. It starts from December to February. Days are cold and hazy. You can expect heavy snow on elevations above 3,000 meters and base camp from December to February. Heavy snowfall can disrupt the trail of Annapurna Base Camp. One traveling without an experienced guide is prone to higher risk in the Annapurna region. Equipping yourself with proper guide and trekking gears, you can defy the challenges of winter. However, winter is the peak time for mountain expeditions. People climb mountains. It gets extremely cold. Temperature at day is 10 to 17℃ while temperature at night can drop to -10℃. Flying time is around 20-25 minutes from Pokhara airport. Helicopter will land for 20-30 minutes on the base camp. Gliding through the snow peaks and hills you will be close to majestic mountains.
