Bardiya National park Safari Overview

Located on the eastern banks of the Karnali River, Bardia National Park is quite a beautiful place to enjoy the wildlife of Nepal. The National Park is home to a wide variety of birds and animals. Also, the national park is the largest national park in Nepal with an area of 968 sq. kilometres. Forests cover 70% of the park, with the rest being grassland. The park provides a habitat for 642 faunal and 839 floral species.

TOUR HIGHLIGHTS
    • Explore the live activities of the tiger.

    • Explore the deep wilder Jungle with elephants.

    • Observe 30 different mammals, more than 250 species of birds, and varieties of reptiles and aquatic animals with one horn Rhinos.

A Sanctuary of Endangered Species

In Bardiya National Park, the rivers and lakes provide a habitat for 125 species of fish and 23 different kinds of reptiles. Also, there are 53 species of mammals including the Bengal tiger, wild elephant, swamp deer, one-horned rhinoceros, and Gangetic dolphin. Of birds, there are 407 species. Also, a study found that the number of tigers is increasing every year. If you’re lucky you will be able to see the tigers in the wilderness during Bardia National Park Safari.

Baghora and Lamkoili are grasslands where we can see many wild animals. Also, the Karnali and Babai rivers attract a large number of birds, such as herons and kingfishers. Although Bardia National Park is the largest protected area in southern Nepal, only a few people visit this site. It is mainly due to the distance of Bardia National Park from the capital Kathmandu. During your Bardia National Park Safari, you can take part in several fun activities like tiger tracking, jungle walking, rafting, bird watching, dolphin sightseeing, fishing, and hiking. Bardia National Park is truly a hidden gem for adventurers who venture to go there.

Best time to Visit and How?

In order to reach Bardia, we take a bus or flight from Pokhara to Nepalgunj. From there, it is about a five-hour drive to the park. The finest time to visit this beautiful park is from October to June. However, it is still enjoyable all over the year. Moreover, we can design a properly managed and affordable itinerary to cater to your interests. We will ensure that every moment you spend in this gorgeous park will be memorable.

    Bardiya National park Safari

Day 1: Arrival at Bardia National Park

Our representative will pick us up from Nepalgunj airport and take us to Bardia National Park. The Park is a mere 90 kilometres away from Nepalgunj which requires about a 2-hour drive. After checking in at our resort, we take a tour of a Tharu village nearby. These Tharu people are believed to be the indigenous people of this area. We will also visit the crocodile farm that provides a breeding environment for endangered crocodiles.

Day 2: Bardia National Park: jungle safari full day

After having breakfast, we journey towards the woods on foot. Our experienced guide will be with us at all times. The deep jungle of Bardia houses a number of wild animals such as one-horned rhinoceros, Asian elephant, barking deer, hog deer, sambar deer, spotted deer, blackbuck, Royal Bengal tiger, leopard, and golden jackal, among others. There are also view towers in the jungle where we can watch the wildlife without disturbing them. After the jungle safari, we return to our resort. Also, we can take part in the traditional Tharu dance.

Day 3: Bardia National Park: float safari, bird-watching, cultural dance program.

After having breakfast, we get on a private vehicle and drive to Chisapani. It takes only about an hour to reach there. There, we begin our jungle expedition as we walk past the forest and the quiet river. A guide will accompany us at all times as we journey through the sub-tropical landscape, exploring the wilderness. We’ll be catching glimpses of several wild animals drinking the water of the colossal Karnali River. We’ll boat on the river which also has the rare Gharial crocodile and Gangetic dolphins. Moreover, we will also participate in bird-watching as the area is a sanctuary for hundreds of species of birds. Additionally, we attend another Tharu cultural program.

Day 4: Elephant-back Safari, final departure.

After breakfast in the morning, we begin our elephant-back safari. It gives a wonderful opportunity to view the wildlife of the jungle up close. After an hour of the elephant ride, we get back to our resort. After refreshing and having lunch, we will be transferred to Nepalgunj Airport from where we’ll fly back to Pokhara
