Chitwan National Park Safari Overview

Situated about 172 km south of Kathmandu, Chitwan National Park is the most popular national park in Nepal. It covers an area of about 632 km2 and encompasses the plains as well as the forest of the hilly region. Some parts of the park are covered by dense elephant grass along with forests of Sisam, Cotton, and Acacia trees. The area is ecologically diverse with a wide variety of lush verdant vegetation. A Sanctuary of Rare Species

Animals like One-horned Rhino, Royal Bengal Tiger, Rhesus Monkey, Wild Boar, Sloth, etc. are some endangered species found in the national park.     ITINERARY

    Day 1: Arrive Chitwan Kathmandu or Pokhara (6 Hrs)

    We begin our Chitwan Jungle Safari tour in the morning. After having breakfast, we get on our private vehicle and head towards Chitwan. The drive is of about 5 to 6 hours with lush vegetation along the way. We’ll drive through hills and valleys with the scenery of Himalayan Mountains in the background. After we reach there, we will get to our hotel or resort. After refreshing at the hotel, we will walk around a Tharu Village nearby. We will get to know about these indigenous people of Nepal. Then we will enjoy a sunset in the Rapti River and get back to our hotel.

    Day 2: Safari Activities ( Chitwan National Park)

    On the next day, we begin our Chitwan Jungle Safari. We will discover the most popular national park of Nepal that is home to some of the unique and endangered species of the world. We will take a ride on an elephant through the jungle as we explore the wilderness. The national park is home to creatures like rhinoceros, wild bison, leopards, tigers, butterflies and some 500 species of birds. Also, we will take a bath by an elephant in the Rapti River, which is quite a fun activity. we will continue our exploration of Chitwan. We will participate in the Canoe ride along the Rapti River. We’ll also see some rare species of crocodiles in the river. Moreover, we’ll visit the Government Elephant Breeding Centre where there are several elephants kept for breeding. Also, we will explore more of the Tharu culture as we watch their tribal dance.

    Day 3: Drive back to Pokhara or Kathmandu (6 Hrs)

    After having breakfast at the hotel, we will now head towards Pokhara or Kathmandu based on your choice. We will take a deluxe bus to Pokhara, which will take about 6 to 7 hours. Pokhara to Chitwan distance is a mere 86 km. Upon reaching Pokhara, we will then receive a private vehicle to our hotel.
