Overview
Kori Himal Trek Nepal is a new trekking route that offers some spectacular views of snow-capped mountains and excellent landscapes. It is a hike to Kori Hill, which is as isolated as it is beautiful. The viewpoint of Kori hill offers the view of Annapurna IV, Tangting and Sikles villages, and Pokhara valley. Also, the hilltop itself has a beautiful grassland that is covered in snow during winter. The trek is an easy one and the natural beauty is scenic and unspoiled.
- The trek’s highest point lies on the top of Kori hill at 3800 meters.
- The hilltop is a center point that offers magnificent views of valleys and mountains.
- Incredible views of Annapurnas, Lamjung Himal, and Manaslu.
- Kori hill is bejeweled with a verdant meadow that is also a grazing land for sheep.
- You can see wildlife such as Danfe, Himalayan Thar, and Musk deer.
- You will hike through stony steps, oak forests, and green grasslands.
- There are 6 to 7 different species of rhododendron visible on the way.
Kori Trek Kaski from Pokhara?
It follows almost the same path as the Kauche Glacier Lake trek, except that we ascend from Hugu instead of going forward. We can also combine these two treks by going to Kapuche Lake first and then ascending to Kori hill. After following a stone-step trail and traversing a grassland, we arrive at Hugu goth, which is a meadow for grazing sheep. From there, we ascend to Kori hill and camp on Nho-Ta. The region is uninhabited and the path follows through forests of oak, rhododendron, and bamboo. On the next day, we can reach the Kori hilltop and viewpoint, which offers breathtaking vistas of the mountains and valleys. You can also hear and see occasional distant avalanches rumbling on the Annapurna mountain range. The trail up to Hugu is also used by pilgrims, who visit the holy lake of Dudh Pokhari which lies further northeast of Kori hill. The path is also used by trekkers as it goes to Namun Bhanjyang or Namun La pass and joins the famous Annapurna Circuit at Timang. Namun Bhanjyang itself is one of the most difficult passes in the Annapurna region. So, for the more adventurous trekkers, this trek can also be integrated with Annapurna Circuit Trekking. Kori trek is a new trekking route and as such, does not have lodgings in the form of guest houses and hotels. Trekkers have to stay in tents on Hugu, Nho Ta, and Kori hilltops during the night. For food as well, it can be challenging to find food services on the way. We will arrange porters for you, who can bring food items and cook them. Kori hill is located in the northern part of Kaski and you follow the path towards Namun Bhanjyang up to Hugu. From there, you need to ascend Kori hill, which takes you to a height of about 3800 meters. The mountain is approximately 27 km northeast of Pokhara valley.Food and Accommodation in Kori Hill

Can I do a Kori trek without a guide?
This is a newly opened trekking route that has not been explored adequately, and the trail is mostly off-the-beaten-track. There are not enough signposts that can be used to identify the right path for the lake. For trekkers without a guide, it can be challenging to find a way and even accommodations and good food services. So, we recommend you go on the Kori trek with an experienced guide.

1: When is the best time to trek Kori Himal?
The weather is clear from mid-September to December. So, trekking is very pleasant, with a clear sky and no rainfall. Generally, the mountains and landscapes can be seen vividly during this time. However, the months from March to mid-June are also very preferable due to lush green vegetation and Rhododendron-filled forests. The grassland of Kori Hill will entirely turn green during these months, which makes it even more alluring. But, the weather may not be clear sometimes, and the high Himalayas may be covered by fog occasionally. There is also some risk of landslides in trails due to rainfall.
2: How hard is this trek?
This trek can be somewhat challenging as it is recently opened, and trekkers may lose their ways frequently, but this can be minimized with an experienced local guide. The routes can be very muddy due to rainfall in the monsoon and leeches are very common so, high boots are highly recommended. Overall, the journey may turn out to be difficult for solo travelers. However, the same cannot be said for the visitors with a guide.
3: Accommodation and Food during Kori Himal Trek?
The track was recently opened, so there is a limited number of tea houses and hotels. As we go further, towards Kori Himal, we can't find any tea houses because of that; we spend our night in a tent. Also, we need to carry our food ourselves. So, it is better if we take dry food with us.
4: Is this trek possible with children?
The route was recently opened, so there is a lack of proper paths, and roads are often muddy and full of leeches. The treks are often physically demanding and risky, so tagging children with adults may prove to be very difficult. We highly advise not to bring any children during this trek as there is poor food and accommodation facility.
