Kori Himal Trek is a new trekking route that offers some spectacular views of snow-capped mountains and excellent landscapes. It is a hike to Kori Hill, which is as isolated as it is beautiful. The viewpoint of Kori hill offers the view of Annapurna IV, Tangting and Sikles villages, and Pokhara valley. Also, the hilltop itself has a beautiful grassland that is covered in snow during winter. The trek is an easy one and the natural beauty is scenic and unspoiled.
Kori Trek Kaski from Pokhara?
It follows almost the same path as that of Kaphuche Glacier Lake trek, except that we ascend from Hugu instead of going forward. We can also combine these two treks by going to Kaphuche Lake first and then ascending to Kori hill. After following a stone-step trail and traversing a grassland, we arrive at Hugu goth, which is a meadow for grazing of sheep. From there, we ascend to Kori hill and camp on Nho-Ta. The region is uninhabited and the path follows through forests of oak, rhododendron, and bamboo. On the next day, we can reach Kori hilltop and viewpoint, which offers breathtaking vistas of the mountains and valleys. You can also hear and see some occasional distant rumbling of avalanches on the Annapurna mountain range.
The trail up to Hugu is also used by pilgrims, who visit the holy lake of Dudh Pokhari that lies further northeast from Kori hill. The path is also used by trekkers as it goes to Namun bhanjyang or Namun La pass and joins the popular Annapurna Circuit at Timang. Namun bhanjyang itself is one of the most difficult passes in Annapurna conservation area. So, for the more adventurous trekkers, this trek can also be integrated with Annapurna Circuit Trekking.

For food as well, it can be challenging to find food services on the way. We will arrange porters for you, who can bring food items and cook them as well.

Kori hill is located in the northern part of Kaski and you follow the path towards Namun Bhanjyang up to Hugu. From there, you need to ascend Kori hill, which takes you to a height of about 3800 meters. The hill is approximately 27 km northeast of Pokhara valley.
Can I do a Kori trek without a guide?
This is a newly opened trekking route that has not been explored adequately, and the trail is mostly off-the-beaten-track. There are not enough signposts that can be used to identify the right path for the lake. For trekkers without a guide, it can be challenging to find a way and even accommodations and good food services. So, we recommend you go on the Kori trek with an experienced guide.
