Muktinath Helicopter Tour Overview:

The Muktinath helicopter tour is also one of the most popular helicopter tours after the Annapurna Base Camp helicopter tour and the Everest Base Camp Helicopter tour. However, unlike ABC and EBC Helitours, which are available on a sharing basis, the Muktinath Heli tour is primarily available privately. The private Muktinath tour is excellent choice for 1 to 5 people. The more people in your group (up to 5), the less each person pays. But, if you're just 1 or 2 people, you must charter the whole helicopter if seats are not found on a sharing basis.

After completing airport formalities, we will fly to Muktinath from Pokhara/Kathmandu. We will land at a helipad near Muktinath. After landing, we will check-in our ACAP documents and walk towards Muktinath temple. It is just 5 minutes away from the landing point. People with old age and walking problems can hire porters.

After reaching Muktinath, we will explore the place and worship the temple. After spending our precious hour at Muktinath, we will return to the helipad and fly back to Pokhara/Kathmandu.

The Muktinath Helicopter Tour package consists of the following:

    1. ACAP Permits for Muktinath
    2. Airport and Tourist tax
    3. Pick-up and drop-off from/to your hotel.
    4. Flight to Muktinath
    5. 60 min landing time at Muktinath Temple for exploration/worship
    6. Fly back to Pokhara/Kathmandu

Note: There is no hidden charge in this Muktinath helicopter tour package. However, the cost of extra items like shoes, porters to/from Muktinath, down jackets, breakfast at the Muktinath, etc, is separate from this package.

    The Divine Muktinath Temple:

Muktinath is a revered spiritual place and is the 106th of the 108 Divya Desam (108 Vishnu and Laxmi Temples). It is the only Divya Desam located outside of India. It is located in the Mustang region of Nepal and hosts Muktinath Temple, many monasteries, and Buddha Park. This place holds religious significance for Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims, and hundreds of thousands of pilgrims and trekkers visit Muktinath annually. Hence, the journey to Muktinath is also famous as Nepal Muktinath Yatra. Muktinath is also revered as the only place on earth to host all five elements (fire, water, sky, earth, and air). It is believed that the combination of these five elements makes all material things in the universe. This claim is backed by a spring at the Jwala Mai Devi Temple with a continuously burning flame above the water. The naturally occurring gas outflow fuels the flame and gives the appearance of the water burning itself.

In Hinduism, Muktinath (means 'the place of liberation') is a sacred Vishnu temple. The Hindu devotees believe bathing in the 108 water springs of Muktinath can cleanse all of their sins, and people believe that Shaligramas from Muktinath hold special powers.

Buddhist devotees revere it as Chumig Gyatsa' the place of hundred water", a nod to the 108 water spouts that grace the temple's boundary.

The 108 number holds profound significance in Hindu and Buddhist philosophy, symbolizing the universe's completeness and sacredness.

Aerial Views during Muktinath Helicopter Tour:

The Muktinath Helicopter tour is a spiritual journey and one of the most scenic journeys, passing above the mountains, charming villages, and the adventurous desert terrain of Mustang village.

Starting from Pokhara, we can see the aerial view of Pokhara Valley and the villages nearby. We fly above the famous Dhampus village and traditional Lachowk, Ghachowk, Lumre, and Kibang villages. The Mardi Himal trekking route is also visible during the flight, so we can also see trekkers trekking along the route of Mardi Himal, and the view of Mardi Himal looks so surreal from the helicopter.

After 20 minutes of flight, we reach very near Annapurna South, flying over the villages of Ghorepani and Swanta. The ABC and Poon trekking route passes through these villages also, so we can see the trekkers trekking to the Annapurna Base Camp and PoonHill. Moreover, we fly directly over the Poon Hill viewpoint and the Khopra Ridge, from where we can enjoy more than 15 peaks, named and unnamed. We fly very close to Baraha Chuli, also known as Mt. Fang, 7,647 m (25,089 ft), Annapurna South, 7,219 m (23,684 ft), and enjoy the views of these snowcapped mountains. As Hinchuli is very close to Annapurna South, we can also enjoy the overall view of Hiunchuli, which is 6,441 m (21,132 ft).

After some moments of enjoying the mountains of the Annapurna mountain range, the Nilgiri mountain range welcomes with the Nilgiri North 7,061 m (23,166 ft), Nilgiri Central 6,940 m (22,769 ft ) and Nilgiri South 6,839 m(22,437 ft). Finally, we start to see the desert terrains of the Mustang and, subsequently, a welcoming view of Mt. Dhaulagiri, 8,167 m (26,795 ft). From the bird's eye, we will also witness the fabulous view of adventurous trekking routes, motor roads to Muktinath, and villages like Jharkot and Kagbeni. The holy Kali Gandaki River passes through the middle of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna I, making a massive Kali Gandaki Gorge, also known as the deepest gorge in the world; we can also enjoy this scene. Finally, we will reach Muktinath helicopter landing place after 45 minutes of flight, enjoying many mesmerizing scenes.

Group for Muktinath Helicopter Tour:

The Muktinath Helicopter Tour isn't run on a sharing basis. While it is popular, it isn't available on a sharing basis like the ABC helicopter landing tour and the EBC helicopter landing tour. The travelers flying to Muktinath almost always come with their family and friends to worship there or want to enjoy the trip privately with their loved ones.

Hence, group forming is rarely possible for the Muktinath helicopter tour. However, you can contact us at [email protected] early before you arrive at Pokhara, and we will try to find you a group for the exciting helicopter tour to Muktinath.

Best Season for Muktinath Helicopter Tour:

The Muktinath Helicopter Tour Package is available throughout the year if the weather is suitable, with clear visibility and low wind levels in the Muktinath region. As the region lies at a high altitude, snowfall, harsh winds during the noon, unfavorable weather conditions, etc might restrict your flight to Muktinath via helicopter.

While the best seasons for a helicopter tour to Muktinath are Autumn and Spring, the tour is possible in winter and summer if the weather offers suitable conditions. If the weather is clear, the Muktinath helicopter tour is operated from 7 am to 12 pm every season. Here is the detailed breakdown of each season for the perfect Muktinath helicopter package tour.

Muktinath Helicopter Tour in Spring Season (February to Mid-May):

Spring is the best season not just for the Muktinath helicopter tour but also for visiting Nepal overall. The weather during spring is mild and pleasant, providing clear mountain views and mostly snow-covered Muktinath region. Moreover, many flowers bloom, the route fills with greenery, and aerial views of forests covered with rhododendrons are something you will never forget. While the temperature during spring is moderate, the morning temperatures during the tour range from -3 to 5 degrees Celsius, so a down jacket is a must during this trip.

Muktinath Helicopter Tour in Autumn (September to Mid-November):

Another peak season for every adventure in Nepal is autumn. Just as the monsoon ends, it washes away the pollution and dust; the skies become clear again, offering excellent visibility.

The Muktinath helicopter tour during autumn is another great option, as the weather is stable and the temperatures are moderate. This season, the clear blue sky behind the white snowcapped mountains is another attraction. Moreover, during autumn, you can see many trekkers trekking along different trekking routes, and the views of the Himalayas also become much clearer.

Muktinath Helicopter Tour in Monsoon (July to August):

While monsoon is the most preferable season to trek to Muktinath, we cannot say the same for helicopter tours to Muktinath during this season. The Mustang, Muktinath, lies in the rain shadow region of Nepal, but the flight from Pokhara or Kathmandu may get delayed or canceled due to heavy rainfall, cloudy skies, etc.

Muktinath tour via road is especially not recommended as frequent landslides during this season may block the road during your visit. Monsoon season brings challenges and risks. Also, the visibility is poor, so you might miss mindblowing views on the way.

Weather in monsoon is not ideal, but if it clears, you can enjoy the best mountain views and lush greenery throughout the flight (except in the Mustang region).

Furthermore, as the flights get canceled due to bad weather, you can contact us the day you arrive in Nepal so that we can prepare for the helicopter tour to Muktinath from the first till your stay in Nepal. If you get lucky and the weather clears, the views you will see will be more impressive compared to those of even the peak seasons like Autumn and Spring.

Muktinath Helicopter Tour in Winter( December to February):

Just like the monsoon season, winter is another sub-optimal time for the Muktinath helicopter tour. The heavy snowfall and extreme weather conditions make this trip riskier and less enjoyable.

Moreover, winter in the mountain region of Nepal gets extremely cold, and extreme pressure winds during this season postpone helicopter tours. However, if you leave us an early email, we can check for the weather each day and take you to Muktinath by helicopter the day the weather clears.

While other days in winter aren't optimal, the ideal day will offer you gleamed white snow peaks and a snowy paradise in Muktinath.

Read Before You Book The Ride

1. The helicopter ride may delay due to visibility blur within the 2.5 km range, air traffic and lengthier weather confirmation. In such cases, replacement flights are made on the next day on mutual understanding.

2. If the return ride is cancelled due to bad weather, we will try our best to arrange the accommodation but the expenses need to be paid by the clients themselves.

3. In a shared ride, the cost is divided per person. Apart from the bad weather, the flight can be cancelled if any member of the ride cancels the ride.

4. If any member of the flight cancels the ride during share riding, the flight will only continue if the replacement is found or if the remaining members are willing to bear the cost of a missing person.

5. If the landing is not possible at the targeted destination due to bad weather, the clients can choose an alternate destination. However, a refund will not be done during such cases.

6. 25% of the total flight cost should be paid as a booking amount and the remaining 80 % between 2 to 6 days. However, there will be no refund if the client cancels the ride in the last hour.
