Royal Trek Nepal: A short Trek from Begnas Lake Overview

Royal Trek starts outside Begnas Lake. It is one of the shortest treks around Pokhara that involve hiking along the foothills of Annapurna. Royal Trek takes us to the village of the Gurung community and other ethnic groups and provides some gorgeous views of the snow-capped Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre and Lamjung Himal. The royal trek takes 5 to 5 days to complete.

This enjoyable trek requires no earlier trekking experience making it an excellent trek for new trekkers as well as aged people. The hike leads you through some cultural habitats which are immensely rich in tradition. Moreover, you’ll get to see panoramic views of the Pokhara valley. Also, you’ll enjoy walking through the forests of rhododendron and magnolia.

More About This Trek.

This trip traverses through Begnas lake, one of the most beautiful lakes in the world and Rupa Lake. We mostly find Gurung villages along the way so, we can indulge in the hospitality of Gurungs. It also grants an opportunity to inspect the cultures, traditions, and livelihoods of the Gurung people and hear their Gurung language.

Tasting local cuisines while gawking at the mesmerizing views of mountain ranges Like Annapurna, Lamjung Himal and Machhapuchre are some of the unique experiences offered by this Trek. We pass through agricultural rice fields and Rhododendron forests.

We can interact with the locals and gather more information about the trek. During our return, we can opt to do boating on Begnas Lake or taste the local fish freshly caught from the blue-watered lake itself. Also, the chances of getting altitude sickness are almost zero. Moreover, we can do the Pokhara sightseeing tour.

History of Royal High Mountain Trek Nepal

The hiking trail gained its name as Royal Trek when Prince Charles from the UK initiated this trek during the 1980s. After that, it started gaining popularity and over a short period of time, it became one of the most favoured short treks of the Annapurna region. Begnas lake and Rupa lake two of the lake out of seven lakes in Pokhara periphery have helped this trek immensely to gain fame.
